Glenn’s
departure
followed
soon
thereafter
and Rock
looked up an
old friend,
“female”
drummer,
Julie
Vollmer. She
hung out
with the
same circle
of friends
that Rock
did tearing
up the
streets of
OC and
Hollywood in
the 1980’s.
Her drumming
ability is
something to
be seen.
John likens
her style to
someone
“attacking
heavy
artillery.”
The band
continued
gigging
anywhere
they could
from the
shores of
San Diego to
Orange
Counties as
well as
Catalina.
They played
several EMS
shows at
Anaheim
Stadium and
in 2004 they
were the
first band
to play
Original
Mike’s in
Santa Ana,
and have
continued
playing
there
regularly
ever since.
In 2005
Bruce and
the band
parted ways,
and after
numerous
auditions,
the band
found jazz
influenced
bassist,
Mark Croft.
Mark brought
a technical
element to
the band and
his
abilities
enabled him
get
up-to-speed
with the
band’s large
repertoire
in a short
time. The
band
continued a
heavy
schedule
playing
bars, fairs,
private
parties and
even the
House Of
Blues in
Anaheim.
Mark left
the band in
2007 to
pursue his
jazz
interests
and, once
again, the
band needed
a bass
player.
After
various
auditions,
they found
the perfect
fit to
compliment
the rest of
the band in
a Welsh gent
named Ian
Thomas. Ian
moved from
Wales to the
US around
the time
Midnite
Train played
their first
gig. His
quick
learning
abilities as
well as his
witty sense
of humor and
positive
attitude are
unparalleled. After a very successful and enjoyable 2 year run, Ian had become
extremely busy with his career and was not able to continue with the band.
In March 2010 the band was pleased to announce it's newest member, Phil Garcia, on bass. Phil brings great talent and an equally enjoyable personality, that will mesh well with the rest of the band.
“We’re
having more
fun now than
we ever
have,” said
the bands
drummer in a
recent
interview.
The band
continues to
gig anywhere
and
everywhere.
The annual
shows
include the
Anaheim
Stadium’s
EMS events,
the Orange
County Fair
and the
Orange
International
Street Fair.
The band is
also
scheduled to
record with
the new
lineup, so
keep an eye
out for new
music from
Midnite
Train and
they hope to
see you at a
gig soon.
