Ian started playing Bass guitar at age 16 after hearing the bass line in the song "Car Wash.” Originally from South Wales, UK, where he mainly played R&B, Rock & Roll and cabaret sets, Ian moved to the English Midlands and helped establish Edwin Avenue as one of the up-and-coming new bands of the early 1990's. The sound was described as "an original fusion of earthy soulful funk" and gained radio play in the region.
In 1998, due to work commitments, Ian had to move to Milton Keynes where he joined Beaver, the Northamptonshire Cover Band of the Year. Beaver concentrated on chart material with a female vocalist who had an edge: Alanis Morrisette, Sheryl Crowe, Skunk Anansi, etc. This turned into a short engagement, as in 2000, work again required a move, this time to Orange County, California.
Due to a busy travel schedule, the bass guitar was hung up for a
several
years.
Ian returned
to the bass
guitar with
a one-year
spell with
Vintage Roxx
and
then joined
Midnite
Train, in
February
2007.
